Bhubaneswar: Following the Union Government’s announcement of “Operation Sindoor,” a decisive military action targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), prominent political leaders from Odisha have voiced their strong support for the Indian Armed Forces. The operation, executed in response to the recent deadly Pahalgam terror attack, has drawn widespread commendation for its precision and swiftness.
Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and Lawmaker Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo was among the first to acknowledge the operation. In a social media post, Shri Singh Deo lauded the “swift and decisive action” of the Indian Armed Forces, emphasizing that “those who threaten our sovereignty will be met with strength.” He further asserted India’s unified and unwavering stance against terrorism.
Echoing these sentiments, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik conveyed his appreciation for the bravery of the armed forces. Speaking to the media in Delhi, Shri Patnaik stated, “I have been informed that the Indian armed forces have been successful in the operation against terrorists. I congratulate them with all my heart.” His earlier social media message reinforced this support, declaring, “We appreciate the courage of the army. We are with the army. We believe in the victory of the army. Hail India. Mother India, may you live long!”
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, a senior leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), also praised the armed forces for their successful operation against terrorists operating from Pakistani territory. He underscored India’s firm commitment to its sovereignty and security, describing “Operation Sindoor” as a “decisive strike against terror that sends a clear message: threats to our nation will never be tolerated.” In his statement on X, the Deputy Chief Minister added, “Their courage and sacrifice embody the spirit of a strong and united India. We remain steadfast in our mission to safeguard every inch of our motherland. Jai Hind!”
The Union Government’s statement earlier today clarified that the military action was “focused, measured and non-escalatory,” with no Pakistani military facilities targeted. The Government emphasized India’s “considerable restraint” in the selection of targets and the method of execution.
“Operation Sindoor” comes two weeks after the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the loss of 26 lives.
The unified support from senior political figures in Odisha underscores the national solidarity in the face of terrorism and the unwavering trust in the capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces to protect the nation’s security and sovereignty.
