Bhubaneswar : Odisha Government has ordered Judicial Inquiry into the Bharatpur Police in response to an incident.
After visiting Keonjhar, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan and instructed for judicial inquiry into the Bharatpur police station incident.
The inquiry will be headed by Justice Chittaranjan Das. The Commission has been instructed to provide its report within a 60-day timeframe.
With Chief Minister has been emphasizing the rule of law, the State orderd for Court Monitored Investigation by Crime Branch.
The state government is concerned about the safety, security, and rights of women. The incident has led to the suspension of police officials and the filing of cases against them. Action has been taken against the youth who were involved in the incident. The state government has vowed to take stringent actions against all individuals or officials implicated in the offense.
Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister and Pravati Parida, DCM, Ministers, Suresh Pujari, Prithviraj Harichandan, Advocate General, Pitambar Acharya and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, ACS Home Satyabrata Sahu was in attendance at the meeting.Y B Khurania, DGP was also in attendance.
At a later time, following the orders of Chief Minister Shri Majhi, Team of Ministers were engaged in discussions with army officials and others.
