It’s a matter of great pleasure to inform that, the Jeypore Airport has officially received its Aerodrome license for 2B category with day VFR operation from the Office of the Director General of Civil Aviation, New Delhi on 20 October 2022 and it will be the fourth Airport in the State to get license after Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda and Rourkela Airport.
Unlike the other Airports in the State, this will be a State owned Airport to be licensed for commercial flight operation.
Initially, the Jeypore city is now connected with Bhubaneswar and India One Air has launched service in the above route using a 9 seater scheduled airline on regular days with an introductory airfare of Rs. 999.
This reduces the travel time between the State Capital and Jeypore town to 1.5 hrs. An airport at Jeypore to connect the capital city was a much-needed aspiration to accelerate economic activity in the region.
The City has emerged as a trade centre of Southern Odisha having lots of manufacturing units. Besides it has very popular tourist spots & attractive places for visitors and various reputed institutions. There was a continuous demand for Airport.
