Baleswar: Former Balasore Member of Parliament (MP), Shri Rabindra Jena, recently extended his heartfelt appreciation for the humanitarian effort of the Baleswar Yuvashakti organization in organizing the third festival of the “Annapurna Yojana”.
The initiative, held at Mission Field in Baleswar city, offers pure vegetarian meals for a nominal price of just one rupee on the last Monday of every month.
Shri Jena’s participation and public commendation have brought significant attention to this exemplary social program. In his statement, the former MP described the initiative as the “highest philosophical form of humanity,” especially in the current scenario where acquiring anything for a mere one rupee is rare.

“This is not a plan, this is the blessings of Maa Annapurna for hungry stomachs,” he said, thanking all members of Baleswar Yuvashakti for organizing such a beautiful and meaningful program.
The Annapurna Yojana, organized by Baleswar Yuvashakti, is dedicated to providing food security to the needy, ensuring that no one has to go hungry. The overwhelming response to the program highlights the community’s need and the impact of the organization’s selfless service.
The “Annapurna Yojana” itself—the one rupee meal program—is their most distinctive and publicly reported initiative, demonstrating their focus on direct, community-level food security. Shri Jena enjoyed food and appreciated the humanitarian efforts.

Shri Jena’ tenure as MP was marked by high rates of attendance and participation in debates and questions, including raising local issues like salt farming in Balasore and the need for a railway overbridge at Basta.
Addressing such local concerns enhances his standing among constituents and he is rated highly popular among the youth.
