Jena Gets 6 Months Extension

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government today extended the services of Pradeep Kumar Jena, Chief Secretary for a period of another six months.

In pursuance of letter of Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, P G & Pensions, Government of India, the service of Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena IAS (RR-1989), Chief Secretary, Odisha is hereby extended for a period of six months from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024,” read a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.

1989 Batch IAS, Shri Jena took charge as Chief Secretary of Odisha on March 1, 2023. He took over as Suresh Chandra Mohapatra has superannuated from the Service.

While he has worked in several developmental departments, Shri Jena, known for his No-Nonsense approach is working out the Road Map for accelerating development process in the State.

Shri Jena was to superannuate on 31 December. With six months of extension he will be serving the State Government till 30 June, 2024.

Shri Jena, who is in the good books of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, will continue oversee the Government Affairs during upcoming crucial Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the State.
