New Delhi: In a historic achievement for the nation’s cooperative movement, Shrimati Jayashree Garnaik has been elected as the Vice Chairperson of the National Federation of Fishermen’s Cooperatives Ltd (FISHCOFED). Her landmark election marks a groundbreaking milestone, making her the first woman cooperator to achieve such a prestigious position in the organization’s history.

Prior to her national appointment, Shrimati Garnaik built an exemplary career holding several distinguished positions, including Vice Chairman of the Khordha District Central Co-Op Bank, Director of the Odisha State Co-op Bank, and Director of the Fisheries Odisha Co-Op Corporation Limited (FISHFED).

Furthermore, she has guided grassroots initiatives as President of the Omm Sai Multipurpose Primary Fishery Co-Op Society Ltd and President of the Bhubaneswar Distribution Division Co-op Society Ltd.

Shri T Prasad Rao Dora, President of the Odisha State Cooperative Bank and Director on the Governing Council of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) said that she is a dynamic and versatile personality, who is enriching the Co-operative sector in the State and will continue to contribute in a positive manner in the national level.

Equipped with an MBA in Finance and an outstanding academic foundation, Shrimati Garnaik blends deep operational expertise with strong financial acumen.
