Jatra Duty For Ministers

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today directed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and two Ministers to camp in Puri to supervise and ensure smooth completion of all rituals till Niladribije of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.

The Chief Minister directed that along with the Deputy Chief Minister, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan and Culture Minister Suryavanshi Suraj will visit Puri tomorrow and supervise the rituals for Bahuda Jatra, Suna Besha and Niladribije.

The Chief Minister has advised them to be actively present in Puri till the end of Niladri Bije to ensure that the rest of the rituals of Rath Jatra are conducted in a smooth manner and that there should be no inconvenience to the devotees.

Shri Majhi has deputed the Ministers in the aftermath of the incident which occurred during Pahandi of Lord Balabhadra during Adapa Mandap Bije.

Lord Balabhadra, the elder brother of Lord Jagannath, slipped while stepping down from his chariot during ‘Pahandi’ ritual in Puri on last Tuesday evening.
