Jadhav Steers Odisha REWARD

Bhubaneswar: Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, led the final deliberations as a high-level Technical Review Mission of the World Bank concluded its assessment of the REWARD programme in Odisha.

The mission focused on reviewing overall project progress and mapping out a detailed roadmap for timely and impactful completion across the state.

The strategic vision presented during the review heavily reflects the leadership of Secretary Jadhav, who is driving community participation and promoting Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) as central pillars of the state’s agricultural growth.

Under his direction, the department is working to transform traditional farming into an organized, community-led enterprise.

Key highlights of the concluded mission include strengthening Watershed Associations to secure a lasting impact on soil and water conservation.

By leveraging FPOs, the initiative aims to maximize rural engagement and ensure the long-term sustainability of all agricultural interventions, establishing a resilient ecosystem for farmers throughout Odisha.
