IREDA Celebrates 36th Foundation Day

New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) celebrated its 36th Foundation Day today through the virtual mode.

On this occasion, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA, interacted with all the employees. Shri Chintan Shah, Director (Technical), Smt. Manish Saxena, CVO, Dr. R. C. Sharma, CFO, and other senior officials also took part in the celebration.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Das congratulated all employees for completing 35 glorious years of the company and entering into 36th year. CMD also praised the financial performance of the company and said that IREDA growth means India’s Renewable Energy sector is growing.

CMD highlighted that “IREDA has played a highly instrumental role in shaping the Banking landscape of the Renewable Energy sector in India, and it continues to drive growth of the sector across the nation.

It’s a matter of satisfaction that IREDA has been rapidly moving ahead in the last few years. IREDA has consistently achieved new heights in the last two years, being the only dedicated institution in the country which is financing Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) projects.”

CMD further underlined, “IREDA stands fully committed towards achieving the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ‘Panchamrita’ COP26 targets. While IREDA has sanctioned loans amounting to more than Rs. 20,000 crores and disbursed loans amounting to more than Rs. 8,700 crores in the ongoing financial year, the company has cumulatively sanctioned and disbursed loans amounting to approx. Rs. 1,16,632 crores and Rs. 71,882 crores, respectively, supporting more than 19.46 GW of RE installed capacity (as on March 11th, 2022) in the country.

Speaking on the cultural changes in the company, CMD said that “IREDA promotes a culture to adopt transparency, good-governance, and a proactive approach in every sphere of life, including work. To this effect, the company has already adopted cultural changes like – cross functional relations, team building, a measurable and accountable approach to issuing KRAs and the preparation of vision documents and annual plans, linked with activities and planning for mid-year and end of year reviews.” Shri Das concluded his address by reaffirming IREDA’s commitment to not only its customers, but also to the larger vision of clean and green energy, in line with catchline of the company- “ENERGY FOREVER”. He also mentioned that we wish to ensure that the entire value chain in the operations of IREDA can happily and proudly sustain the feeling of “Once IREDA, Always IREDA.”
