Bhubaneswar: A well attended preparatory meeting for the upcoming 80th State-Level Independence Day celebrations held here today, led by Additional Chief Secretary Shri Hemant Sharma, who holds charge of the Home, Industries, and Information and Public Relations departments.
Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi will grace the momentous occasion as the Chief Guest and hoist the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg on 15 August at 9:00 AM.
During the high-level review meeting held by the Information and Public Relations Department, Shri Sharma emphasized that Independence Day is a profound symbol of national pride and emotional resonance, requiring meticulous attention to every detail of the event management.
The discussions extensively covered the smooth execution of the ceremonial parade, playing the traditional Ramdhun during the early morning hours, live television and social media coverage, and showcasing portraits of national heroes and freedom fighters.
The celebrations will also feature the illumination of major central and state government buildings alongside key public sector undertakings across the city. Chief Minister Majhi will felicitate the winning contingents and floats from the previous Republic Day parade with special awards. Furthermore, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has been entrusted with ensuring comprehensive sanitation and drinking water facilities at the venue, while the Commissionerate Police will take charge of robust security arrangements and traffic management.
Senior officials including Director I&PR, Shri Anuj Kumar Das Pattanaik, Technical Director Shri Gurbir Singh, Additional Secretary Shri Ashok Kumar Beuria, Additional Director Smt.Smita Kar, and Joint Director Smt.Sucheta Priyadarshini were present during the deliberations.
