New Delhi: In a significant reinforcement of the nation’s technological sovereignty, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, officially inaugurated two world-class facilities at the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in New Delhi. These institutions—the National Environmental Standard Laboratory and the National Primary Standard Facility for Solar Cell Calibration—represent a decisive shift in India’s capacity for systemic synthesis between environmental governance and renewable energy infrastructure.
The establishment of the National Environmental Standard Laboratory marks India as only the second nation globally to possess such a specialized facility.
