In a press meet held on December 20, the General Manager of the property, Shri Biplab Ganguly, shared extensive details regarding the modern facilities and services that have been integrated to elevate the guest experience.
Shri Biplab Ganguly has been a prominent name in the hotel circuit for many years and he highlighted that while the building’s classic soul remains, the entire guest journey has been digitized and modernized.
The transformation marks a new era for the landmark hotel, which now operates under the Sarovar Portico brand, blending its decades-long legacy of Odia hospitality with contemporary global standards. During the session, Shri Ganguly emphasized that the renovation was designed to cater to the evolving needs of both corporate travelers and leisure tourists visiting the temple city.
Key highlights of the added facilities include fifty-five thoughtfully designed rooms and suites that offer a mix of executive and deluxe categories. The food and beverage segment has been significantly enhanced with the introduction of Spice, a signature multi-cuisine restaurant, alongside a sophisticated bar and a specialized cafe for quick bites and artisanal coffee.
For the events and business sector, the hotel has expanded its banqueting and conferencing capabilities. The newly upgraded venues, which include the Regal, the Regency, and the expansive outdoor space known as the Pavilion, are now equipped with high-speed internet and modern audiovisual technology to accommodate gatherings of various scales. Leisure amenities have also seen a major boost with the addition of a state-of-the-art spa, a fitness center, and a well-maintained outdoor swimming pool set within the property’s lush green surroundings.
