Bhubaneswar: As per announcement made at the all-party meeting, several Ministers have been deputed to various states and UTs to invite the Chief Ministers for FIH Hockey Men’s Hockey World Cup, which will be organised in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to 29.
On behalf of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Hyderabad and invited him to the mega sporting event. Mr.Panda is also scheduled to invite Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari met the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath this evening at Lucknow and handed the invitation of CM Mr.Patnaik to the Hockey World Cup 2023.
Similarly, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik extended an invitation to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar this evening at Patna. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department, and former PS of Nitish Kumar was also present on this occasion.
Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak extended an invitation to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin in Chennai. He also visited Puducherry and invited Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy.
Mr.Rangaswamy said that people of Jagannath Dham need no appointment or protocol to meet him and thanked the CM Naveen Patnaik for the invitation. Mr.Nayak will also hand over the CM’s invitation to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
SC, ST Development Minister Jagannath Saraka met the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren this afternoon at Ranchi and handed the invitation of CM Naveen Patnaik and invited Soren to the Hockey World Cup 2023.
State Higher Education Minister Rohit Pujari on Tuesday met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal to extend the invitation on behalf of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Odia Language Literature & Culture Department Minister Aswini Kumar Patra will go to Dehradun to extend an invitation to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Similarly, few other Ministers have also deputed to other States to invite the CMs. By the first week of January, all the Chief Ministers will be invited to attend the grand sporting event, sources said.
Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera had earlier reached out to Union Ministers Anurag Thakur, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Dharmendra Pradhan to invite them to attend the event. Mr.Patnaik had on December 22 chaired an all-party meeting to discuss the preparations for the World Cup.
