Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Srinagar on Wednesday to meet with the families of victims and survivors of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
Shri Shah’s visit comes in the wake of a deadly attack that claimed the lives of several tourists.
Upon his arrival, Shri Shah laid wreaths on the coffins of the deceased at the Police Control Room, where a solemn ceremony was held. He was accompanied by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also paid their respects.
Following the tribute, Shri Shah directly engaged with the grieving families and survivors. He expressed his condolences and assured them that the government is committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice. “The security forces will leave no stone unturned,” Shah stated, emphasizing the government’s resolve.
In a message posted on his X handle, Shri Shah said: “The perpetrators of this cowardly act will not be spared. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and are committed to eradicating terrorism from J&K.”
Shri Shah also held a high-level security meeting with top officials, including Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, to review the security situation and discuss strategies to prevent future attacks.
The Pahalgam attack, which occurred at Baisaran meadow, has been widely condemned.
