Berhampur: An integrated survey campaign has been launched in the state. Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling inaugurated the programme from Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College in Ganjam. The event was held at diamond jubilee town hall premises in Berhampur.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Minister Shri Mahaling said that health is wealth. Everyone should be careful about it. The Integrated Survey Campaign programme is being conducted under the convenorship of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. It will make people aware of deadly diseases like diarrhoea, dengue, TB, leprosy, tuberculosis.
Pregnant women who have not been tested for hepatitis B this year have also been included in the campaign. Minister Shri Mahaling said that the campaign will start from today and will continue till August 31.
During this campaign, asha workers will visit all the households in both rural and urban areas and make them aware about the use of ORS, zinc, use of toilets and washing hands thoroughly with soap. Integrated wire corners will be set up for stocking items such as zinc, ORS, RDT and displayed along with control stock.
The campaign has been going on since 2014 and around 8,38,000 families and around 5,086 children under the age of five have joined the campaign and reaped the benefits. The identified with diarrhea were treated with ORS and zinc.
Similarly, around 25,640 fever tests have been conducted for the detection of malaria and dengue patients, 2,591 for TB and 1,994 leprosy patients have been identified and steps have been taken accordingly. It is a massive and integrated campaign, through which awareness is being spread from time to time through TV, newspapers, radio and media.
A reference booklet has been provided to all the aspirants. Speaking on the occasion, Gokulanand Mallik, Minister of Fisheries & ARD said, “We hope that this year also this campaign will be successfully implemented and together everyone will achieve its goal.
