Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal on Sunday said that success or failure in life is just a part of life.
Addressing the students at the 10th convocation of Centurion University of Technology and Management at its Paralakhemundi campus today, the Governor said, “Success or failure in life is just a part of life. The most important thing is to act conscientiously and be honest.”
Prof. Lal congratulated the students on their success and praised Centurion University’s relentless effort to build a dynamic workforce through its well-structured educational initiatives. He rekindled the feeling of oneness among young minds and said the learners are like divinities and a medium of radiating happiness.
Professor Iain Martin, Vice Chancellor, Deakin University, Australia who graced the convocation as the Guest of Honour, appreciated Deakin University’s relationship with Centurion University and the shared goals for developing leadership qualities among students and focus on sustainable development.
Peter Wuffli, Founder & Chairman, elea Foundation for Ethics in Globalization, Switzerland in his speech stressed upon the importance of digital innovation and digital transformation; and appreciated how Centurion University is leading with innovation and entrepreneurial vision. He urged students to develop a “can do” attitude.
Presenting the annual report of the University, Vice Chancellor Supriya Patnaik encouraged the graduating students to apply their learning and industry experience to nurture entrepreneurship as job creators. Goading the students to commit themselves to growth with sustainability and responsibility, she said, “Climb a mountain to see the world, not for the world to see you.”
In the convocation, 22 scholars received doctoral degrees out of which one received the Vice Chancellor’s Best Thesis Award. Twelve graduates were conferred gold medals. A total of 2,298 students from the 2020-22 batch and 131 students from earlier batches were conferred degrees at the convocation.
Gajapati district Collector Lingaraj Panda, Centurion University of Technology and Management President Muktikanta Mishra, Vice President DN Rao, Registrar Anita Patra and Deans of all schools of the University were among the dignitaries who graced the convocation.
