Bhubaneswar: Guruji Chandra Bhanu Satpathy inaugurated a newly constructed structure – a Guru Bhagwat Tungi within the premises of Sai Ka Aagan, Gurgaon, Haryana, on the 25 February 2024. “Tungi” denotes a place where various religious, cultural, and literary discussions and renditions take place in Odisha from ancient times.
Shri Guru Bhagwat Tungi was inaugurated with traditional worship forms by pundits. Traditional Hawan and Puja were performed by Dr. Satpathy. Devotees from various cultures and languages participated in this occasion, reciting Shri Guru Bhagwat Prarthana (prayer) in the Odia language, showcasing the global acceptance of Shri Guru Bhagwat, its author, and the Odia language. More than 250 devotees from different states of India and abroad witnessed this ceremony.
It’s worth mentioning that this magnum opus of Dr. Satpathy, titled “Shri Guru Bhagwat” (author of more than 68 books in Hindi, English, and Odia languages), is available in 18 different languages, including English, and is being translated into German and Chinese. This book depicts multiple facets of the Guru Tradition prevalent from ancient times and is not based on any particular Guru; thus, it belongs to all religions, creeds, sects, and paramparas. Shri Guru Bhagwat, originally composed in Odia in the unique Nabakshri poetic meter, consists of about 34,000 lines in eight volumes.
Addressing the devotees, Gurujee said, “Shree Guru Bhagwat is beyond all religions, sects, and castes. There is no difference for a devotee… a devotee is always a devotee. Attraction to the Guru is spontaneous… it’s not created… No spiritual exercise is needed to love a mother… similarly, love towards Guru and God is spontaneous.”
