New Delhi: The celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi, beautifully mirrored Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming yoga from a personal practice into a global mass movement for holistic health, harmony, and peace.
Organized through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, and the Solar Energy Corporation of India, the event became a living expression of the nation’s collective journey toward wellness and sustainability.
Guided by this year’s theme, Yoga for Healthy Ageing, the gathering highlighted how the ancient practice fosters lifelong mobility, mental clarity, and vitality, echoing the Prime Minister’s regular emphasis on yoga as an accessible tool for physical resilience and emotional equilibrium across all generations.

The presence of senior leadership, including MNRE Secretary Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, IREDA Chairman and Managing Director Shri Pradip Kumar Das, and SECI Managing Director Shri Akash Tripathi, underscored a shared commitment to building a healthier, more mindful workforce in public service.
As employees joined together under the open sky, the session captured the core philosophy that Prime Minister Shri Modi has championed on the world stage: that yoga is not just a set of physical exercises, but a way to discover the sense of oneness with oneself, the world, and nature. By connecting the principles of inner harmony with the outer mission of clean, green energy, the event illustrated how personal well-being directly fuels the energy and dedication needed to drive national growth and environmental stewardship.

Reflecting the Prime Minister’s call to integrate yoga into the fabric of daily life rather than treating it as a single-day observance, IREDA continues to champion employee wellness by hosting structured yoga and meditation sessions every day except Sundays and holidays. This regular practice empowers professionals navigating the dynamic renewable energy sector to sustain their health and focus.
By anchoring their daily routines in mindfulness, the participating organizations demonstrated that a healthy nation begins with healthy individuals, successfully advancing India’s vision of a sustainable future built on a foundation of holistic wellness.
