Bhubaneswar: Union Secretary Youth Affairs, Shrimati Pallavi Jain Govil made a significant visit to the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar to spearhead discussions on youth empowerment and the integration of state and national sports initiatives. The visit underscored the central government’s commitment to leveraging Odisha’s world-class sports infrastructure to foster a more robust youth engagement ecosystem.
The meeting was graced by Shri Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Secretary of Sports and Youth Services (DSYS), and Director of Sports Dr. Yeddula Vijay. Representing the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Director Shri Ramesh Verma joined the deliberations to align national goals with the grassroots progress being made at the Kalinga Stadium.
During the sessions, Shrimati Pallavi Jain Govil focused on the expansion of the My Bharat platform and the coordination of National Service Scheme (NSS) activities to better serve the athletic and leadership potential of the region’s youth. The dialogue emphasized creating seamless outreach programs that connect local talent with national-level opportunities, ensuring that the empowerment initiatives in Odisha serve as a blueprint for youth connect strategies across India.
Shrimati Pallavi Jain Govil highlighted that the synergy between the Department of Youth Affairs and the state’s sports department is vital for the holistic development of young citizens. By focusing on structured volunteerism and leadership through programs like My Bharat, the initiative aims to transform the sporting landscape into a platform for comprehensive youth empowerment.
