Free NEET Bus Ride

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government is fully gearing up to support NEET (UG) candidates by providing free bus services across the state. Following the decision of the Chief Minister and under the direct instructions of the Commerce and Transport Minister, State Transport Commissioner Shri Amitabh Thakur has initiated a comprehensive drive to ensure the seamless execution of this student-friendly initiative.

To guarantee the smooth management of the free transit service, Transport Commissioner Shri Amitabh Thakur chaired a crucial review meeting with all Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) across the state. During the high-level meeting, the Commissioner emphasized the need for absolute coordination and efficiency to eliminate any transit hurdles for the aspiring medical students on their examination day.

Under this special drive, the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and Comprehensive Region Urban Transport (CRUT) will deploy their fleets to provide complimentary transportation. The free bus services will be strategically operated from major bus stands and railway stations across the state, ferrying candidates directly to their respective examination centers.

Shri Amitabh Thakur’s proactive administrative push ensures that all RTOs are fully activated to monitor the ground operations, facilitate hassle-free boarding for students, and maintain strict schedules so that no candidate misses their examination due to a lack of transport.

This dedicated effort by the State Government and the Department of Commerce & Transport aims to alleviate travel stress for thousands of families, allowing students to focus entirely on their NEET (UG) success.
