Bhubaneswar: Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, ACS Health & FW has said in a bid to ensure better management of COVID-19 infection cases, the State Government Sunday constituted expert teams at State level and medical college level to monitor Covid facilities.
Mr.Mohapatra accordingly has notified the notification of the Committee. The State level team will comprise of the Special Secretary (PH), H&FW Department- Chairman, Professor and HOD of Pulmonary Medicine of government medical college and hospital for the district tagged, Prof. and HOD of Microbiology of the medical college and hospital and Prof. and HOD of Anesthesiology of the Govt. MCH.
The medical college level team will consist of the Faculty in Pulmonary Medicine or Medicine, Faculty in Microbiology and Faculty in Anesthesiology. The medical college level teams will be formed by the Dean and Principal of the concerned Medical Colleges in consultation with the Superintendent of the attached hospital and HODs of Pulmonary Medicinel Medicine, Microbiology and Anesthesiology, an order issued by the Health and Family Welfare department stated.
The team will inspect and supervise the COVID Hospitals on site in the districts tagged to them with prior information to the CDM and PHO of the district that will facilitate the inspection. The district health official will ensure the presence of authorized Medical Officer attached to the hospital during the inspection of the team.
The teams shall observe and assess the protocols followed for Screening the caves isolation and quarantine mechanisms followed, method of sample collection, management of COVID positive cases, management of patients in ICUS Biomedical Waste Disposal, Infection Control and Prevention methods rational use of PPES, deceased body disposal methods followed and appropriate use of facilities like HOUS & ICUS beds
During its onsite inspection, the Team will assess the adherence to the different guidelines on management and infection prevention control praction in the hospital and appropriate use of facilities like HDUS & ICUs beds.
Also, the members of the Team will assess the quality of diets, equipments provision & stock of logistics including oxygen, drugs and PPES 6. During on site visit the Team will also assess the level of patient satisfaction in the hospital
The members of Team will interact with the treating Teams, AMOS and other staffs and will advice them on any remedial measures which may be required 8. The Team will submit the report to the DMET, Odisha through the Dean & Principal of the college
Worth mentioning, the seven medical college and hospitals in the State have been tagged with different districts.
The State level team will subsequently inspect and supervise the Covid hospitals based on the feedback received from the MCH level teams.
