Bhubaneswar: A crucial one-day training programme focusing on the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees State Insurance (ESI) schemes for Disbursing Officers (DDOs) was inaugurated today by Indramani Tripathy, Commissioner of Labour, Odisha. The event took place at the Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhavan, aiming to equip DDOs with comprehensive knowledge of these vital employee benefit schemes.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Tripathi, Labour Commissioner, Odisha, who officially commenced the training. The programme witnessed the esteemed presence of Madhumita Nayak, Additional Secretary, Labour and Director, Employees State Insurance Scheme, Odisha, and Additional Secretary, Labour Department, Rajesh Kumar Agrawall as the guests of honour.
The workshop was conducted by Neetu Ranjan Sen, who holds the significant portfolios of Director, State Labour Institution, Director, Factories and Boilers.
A significant number of Drawing & Disbursing Officers, totaling 84, actively participated in this essential training. These officers represented various key departments including the Directorate of Labour, Directorate of Factories and Boilers, Directorate of Employees State Insurance Scheme, and Referral Tribunals/Labour Tribunals.
The training was imparted by a distinguished panel of experts in the field. Rudra Pradeep Dutt, Provincial Director, Employees State Insurance Corporation, and Mausumi Lata Padhi, Employees Provident Fund Commissioner, shared their valuable insights and practical knowledge. To ensure the well-being of the participants, Yoga Trainers A K Swain, Suresh Kumar Mahapatra, and Raghunath Reddy also contributed to the programme.
This initiative by the Labour Commissioner, Odisha, Shri Tripathy underscores its commitment to ensuring the efficient and accurate implementation of EPF and ESI schemes.
