Entreprise Odisha’24 To Boost Investments

Bhubaneswar: To boost entrepreneurship and investment in the State especially in the western region, the State Government in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is holding the 24th Edition of Enterprise Odisha in Jharsuguda from 19-21 January, 2024.

While past 23 editions of the mega business event were organised here in Bhubaneswar, for the first time, the three-day exhibition and conference will be organised at Jharsuguda, a happening industrial zone, said CII Odisha Chief Sashi Sekhar Mohanty.

Shri Mohanty, who strongly feels that industrial development to spread across the State, and accordingly has taken the initiative to open new CII Office at Jharsuguda, which will facilitate such activities in Western Region of the State.

Odisha Government has decided to organize Twenty Fourth Edition of Entreprise Odisha at Jharsuguda and CII has extended its support for the same.

CII Chief Shri Mohanty said that the main objective of the conference is to provide investment opportunities in industrial and allied sectors in Odisha, especially Jharsuguda and Western Odisha, to provide business opportunities to micro, small and medium enterprises (MMMEs) and to connect them with large industrial units, promote women entrepreneurs and startups.

Farmers in rural areas are now mainly moving towards small and medium enterprises, which will help the state to gain international reputation in the future. The conference will mainly help the tribal and women entrepreneurs, the organisers said. Agri, allied sector investments and textile sector will be showcased in this Conclave.

Hundreds of companies, CEOs of industry bodies, chief experience officers (CXOs), purchasing managers and industry representatives from across the country and abroad are scheduled to attend the event.

More than 200 exhibitors, 100 CEOs & CXOs and 20 PSUs will participate in the Enterprise Odisha. The exhibition is expected to receive over 4000 visitors. Large and Medium enterprises of the State, service sector bodies, national organizations of repute and various Departments of the Government of Odisha will participate in the program to showcase their strength and solutions. Emphasis will be given to start-ups and women entrepreneurs, they said.

The 24th CII Enterprise Odisha will showcase products and services in technology, sustainability, renewable energy, logistics and infrastructure, security solutions, manufacturing, defence agriculture, food processing textile and other various sectors.

On the opening session on the first day of the event, representatives from various industry bodies will share their experiences including Vision Odisha-2030 and the role of Biju Economic Corridor in accelerating the economic development of the State and the country.

A number of industry bodies will participate in the exhibition which will encourage local and potential entrepreneurs. On the second day, skill development, agriculture and food processing, start-ups will be organized.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Ministers along with senior officers of the State Administration, representatives of industry bodies have been requested to attend various days. District Collectors of various districts of Western Odisha are also scheduled to attend.

Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena has taken pro-active steps in this regard and held a preparatory meet for the organization of the Industrial Conclave.

The conference will also discuss the creation of industrial products, infrastructure and allied facilities, sustainability solutions in the industrial sector and energy efficiency generation, the use of solar energy and batteries and conservation of products, industrial security issues, technical know-how, use of information and technology, mechanical and electrical capital goods, chemical and petrochemicals.

Different key organisations like Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), Rourkela Chamber of Commerce, IIM Sambalpur, Rourkela Steel Plant and MCL are likely to actively participate in the business meet.
