Enforcement Drive on Spurious Drugs

Bhubaneswar: Secretary Health & Family Welfare Shalini Pandit has directed the enforcement squads to intensify the enforcement machinery.

She has asked the authorities to intensify enforcement in coordination of other State Governments through appropriate authority for breaking the supply chain and completion of formalities for legal action against the fraudsters.

In the continued drive against the sale of spurious drugs by the State Government, the enforcement teams on Friday seized eleven spurious drugs from MH pharmaceuticals Nayasadak under Purighat Police station of Cuttack.

These drugs, worth over Rs 23 lakh, were procured from Uttar Pradesh.

Based on the information from reliable sources and results of other investigations, some other spurious drugs were also seized from Ashok Medical store in Bargarh.

These drugs, procured from outside the State, were quarantined earlier and their sales stopped on suspicion.

They were also asked to continue market screening more vigorously, and the issue sale stop orders wherever any suspicion activity is found.
