Bhubaneswar: Secretary Women and Child Development, Pramod Kumar Meherda has harped on Action Plan Implementation in the Women and Child Development Sector.
Taking over as new Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development, Dr.Meherda discussed at length the programs being implemented in the DoWCD.
Arvind Agarwal, Director Social Welfare and ICDS along with other senior officials attended the meeting.
Dr.Meherda, at present Secretary to Governor Odisha has been assigned additional charge of DoWCD.
Dr.Meherda appreciated the efforts of the officials of the DoWCD, who sincerely worked during the entire period of COVID-19 Pandemic in a relentless manner.
DoWCD has been working for the overall development of children and women through a host of specially designed schemes and programs.
He harped on schemes like MAMATA and systemic changes like strengthening of the Decentralized Feeding Program of ICDS.
Dr.Meherda focused on the empowerment and entitlements of children, women.
He said that the officials are needed to continue their overdrive during the COVID-19 Pandemic as during this critical period, weaker section needed more support, said a senior official.
