New Delhi: Ace Negotiator, Krishan Kumar, Joint Secretary (North America) met Arun Venkatraman, Assistant Secretary and DG of the U S Foreign Commercial Service on 18 October here.
The Top Notch Mandarins, Dr.Kumar and Mr.Venkatraman met for Mid Term Review of India- US Commercial Dialogue.
They held elaborate discussions in bi-lateral issues on Commercial Front.
The Commercial Dialogue was re-launched by Ministers in March 2023 covering co-operation in resilient supply chains, clean energy, Innovation handshake and tech cooperation etc.
In fact India and the United States of America held the 5th Ministerial level meeting of the bilateral Commercial Dialogue in New Delhi on 10 March 2023.
Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, and U S Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, co-chaired and re-launched the Commercial Dialogue in accordance with the U S-India Joint Leaders’ Statement of September 2021, with a renewed focus on future and emerging areas of bilateral commercial partnership.
The Commercial Dialogue was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the U.S.-India Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, develop inclusive and fair trade and investment policies, and leverage the interests of the private sector in pursuing new market opportunities that advance prosperity in both countries.
Dr.Kumar was previously Chief Negotiator for Trade and Investment Working Group of G20 and held fruitful negotiations on various issues with G20 Nation Members.
