Dr.Kumar On AI Focus

New Delhi: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar hosted a successful workshop on AI, 5G & Emerging Technologies for Skill Development, with Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, attending as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Kumar strongly emphasized that education must keep pace with rapid technological change. He stressed the need for this alignment with major national campaigns, including Viksit Bharat, the AI Mission, and Digital India.

Highlighting the Ministry of Minority Affairs’ dedication to development, Dr. Kumar detailed a vision that integrates technology, education, and innovation for inclusive growth. He pointed to initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) as key vehicles for this vision.

The Union Secretary specifically urged institutions to nurture entrepreneurship and future-ready skills among minority youth to prepare them for a job market increasingly driven by technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.

The event drew over 300 participants and featured expert sessions on key areas like AI, 5G, and Cybersecurity, complete with live demonstrations.

Following the workshop, NIT Jalandhar announced new initiatives under PMKVY 4.0 and the STI Hub to support minority students, with a core focus on AI: Free certification programs, Mentorship schemes and Quarterly workshops.
