Jharsuguda: Dipali Das, daughter of former Minister Health & Family Welfare Naba Kishore Das, has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her father’s murder.
Speaking to the media persons here today, Dipali expressed concerns over the lack of clarity in the investigation and the accusations being directed toward her family.
“In the last Assembly session, two MLAs raised the issue. The media is questioning why I am not demanding a CBI probe. My request to the Mohan Majhi government is this: Will it conduct a CBI investigation? Fingers are being pointed at our family. Will the government stand with us in clearing our name?” she asked.
Stating that she is in favour of CBI probe, Dipali requested the Chief Minister to invite her family to discuss the matter.
Yesterday, during a TV debate, Vishal, Dipali’s brother, had requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to order CBI probe into his father’s murder case.
Naba Das was shot dead in January 2023, a case that remains shrouded in controversy.
Opposition parties and sections of the public have demanded a thorough investigation, alleging lapses in the current inquiry.
Dipali’s statement has reignited the debate, putting pressure on the government to consider her demand for a CBI probe.
