DGP Mishra Leads Unity Parade

Cuttack: The State-level National Unity Day was celebrated on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the 6th OSAP Battalion premises in Cuttack this morning.

Director General of Police(Crime Branch) Shri Vinaytosh Mishra was the chief guest on the occasion. Shri Mishra paid tributes to the great Sardar Patel and received the salute at a combined parade.

Shri Mishra administered an oath to the police officers, employees, and jawans present in the parade, pledging to strengthen the unity, integrity, security, and internal security of the country.

He also shed light on the life philosophy of Sardar Patel, expressing his views on his performance, patriotism, and unique contribution to the freedom struggle.

Shri Mishra highlighted the tireless and unique efforts made by Sardar Patel to integrate 562 princely states into India after independence. He noted that as a result of these efforts, India has gained recognition as a special nation in the world today.

The Director General called upon every citizen of the country to work with the spirit of brotherhood, friendship, and unity to create a special chapter in the history of India. Shri Mishra stressed the importance of everyone working together to control law and order in the state, suppress crime, and establish peace in society in the coming days.

He also informed that National Unity Day celebrations were being held in all the police stations of the 34 police districts of Odisha Police. The program in Cuttack was made interesting by organizing “Run for Unity,” drawing, essay, and debate competitions among students of educational institutions.

The combined parade saw participation from the OSAP 6th Battalion (Cuttack), 6th IR Battalion (Khorda), 3rd IR Battalion, Police Collar Party (Cuttack), and Brass Band Party (Cuttack). Shri Yakub Khan, Commandant of the 3rd IR Battalion, led the parade.

Among the many senior officers and employees of the police department present were Additional Director General of Security (Modernization) Shri S. K. Priyadarshi, Additional Director General of Security (Headquarters) Shri Arun Bothra, Additional Director General of Security (Law and Order) Shri Sanjay Kumar, Additional Director General of Security (Communication) Shri Dayal Gangwar, and Additional Director General of Security (SAP) Shri Rajesh Kumar.
