Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The 37th National Sub-Junior Badminton Championship concluded at the Dalmia Bharat Gopichand Badminton Excellence Centre (SALT) at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, with local player Tanvi Patri achieving a remarkable double crown in both the under-15 and under-17 girls’ singles categories.
In the Under-15 age group final, Tanvi showcased a dominant performance, defeating Telangana’s Avni Vikram Govinda with scores of 21-9 and 21-13. She continued her stellar form in the Under-17 girls’ singles final, playing a high-quality game to overcome Tamil Nadu’s Diksha S.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Development Commissioner Shrimati Anu Garg, Sports and Youth Services Secretary Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Odisha State Badminton Association President Shri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, and Badminton Association of India Vice President Shri Shekhar Biswas.
In a special announcement, Odisha State Badminton Association President and Secretary Co-operation, Shri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil declared a prize money of five lakh rupees for champion Tanvi Patri and two and a half lakh rupees for the doubles runners-up Nimisha Ojha and Swati Nayak. The total prize money for the national championship, distributed among the champion and runner-up players, was 40 lakh rupees.

- Boys’ Under-15 Singles: Pushkar from Karnataka was crowned champion after defeating Harshit Khatri from Delhi 21-17, 21-12.
- Girls’ Under-15 Doubles: The Odia pair of Swati Nayak and Nimisha Ojha finished as runners-up, losing to Maharashtra’s Sarayu Ranjane and Soyara Selar 15-21, 14-21.
- Boys’ Under-17 Singles: Top seed Jagsher Singh Khangura defeated his state mate Biraj Sharma 21-12, 21-13 to become the champion.
- Under-15 Boys’ Doubles: The West Bengal-Uttarakhand combination of Swayammadyuti Ghosh and Sourya Singh Rana clinched the title, beating the Haryana-Delhi pair of Jayawardhana Hooda and Harshit Khatri in a three-game thriller: 21-18, 19-21, 21-14.
- Under-15 Mixed Doubles: Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh pair Nithin Prakash and Vijay Tejaswini were named champions. The results mention a second champion pair of Swayamadyuthi Ghosh (West Bengal) and Neha S (Tamil Nadu) who won 21-11, 19-21, 21-13.
- Under-17 Mixed Doubles: The Karnataka pair of Punitha S and Deepak Raj Aditi were champions. A second mention of champions, the Rajasthan-Tamil Nadu pair of Arnab Sharma and Anjana Manikandan, who won 21-16, 21-14, was also made.
- Boys’ Doubles: Karnataka’s Pavan S and Punitha S became champions.
- Girls’ Doubles: Deepak Raj Aditi and Ponnamma B. V. Dvi were champions.
