New Delhi: Shaktikanta Das, the former RBI Governor, has been appointed as Principal Secretary-2 to the Prime Minister of India.
His tenure is co-terminus with the Prime Minister’s term or until further notice.
His appointment along side Dr. P K Mishra, the Principal Secretary-1, highlights the key roles they will both play in assisting the Prime Minister in his administration.
Shri Das, who is a retired IAS officer of the 1980 batch from Tamil Nadu, brings significant experience, particularly in the economic and financial sectors, to this new role.
This move is likely to bring valuable expertise to the Prime Minister’s office, especially given Shri Das’s tenure as the RBI Governor, where he played a crucial role in shaping India’s monetary policy and economic responses.
