Bhubaneswar: Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Satyabrata Sahu said that the Cultural Council of Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department is playing a crucial role in unleashing the hidden artistic talent of the employees working in the Department.

ACS Shri Sahu graced the occasion as Chief Guest in the annual function of the Cultural Council of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department was held at the Rabindra Mandap on 28 January evening.

He hoped that the Council will be more active in creating a unique atmosphere of harmony, goodwill and connection and will spread the message of commitment towards the environment through drama performances.

The organization of blood donation camps and other social service programs under the initiative of this council is commendable. There are many kinds of talents in humans. When these are given the right platform, they develop.

Otherwise, in many cases they remain suppressed. We can become a government employee for the sake of earning a living, but there are many qualities hidden within us like writers, poets, journalists, painters, sportsmen.

Therefore, they should come to the fore. Drama is an effective medium. Drama is a strong means of direct connection between the actor and the audience. Therefore, if it has a transformative message, it can impress the audience and bring about change in them, said ACS Shri Sahu.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Satyabrata Sahu, released the annual magazine of the Council “Aranyak”. The Chief Guest gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions organized earlier.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF, Debidutt Biswal and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden Prem Kumar Jha joined as the Honorable Guests.

Dr. K Murugesan, PCCF (Nodal) and Member Secretary OSPCB graced the occasion.

Shankar Soren, Working President of the Council, delivered the welcome address and Bibhudatta Prasad Samantary, General Secretary, presented the annual report of the Council.

Dance was performed by the divisional members and field staff. The play “Ekka Avastava Galp” written by Bimal Bandyopadhyay and directed by Debavrat Patnaik was staged. The talented staff of the department captivated the audience through their impeccable performances. The play was very touching and engaging.
