Bhubaneswar: The State Government today directed all IAS Officers serving in the State to take prior permission of the Chief Secretary for availing leave and leaving the headquarters.
The General Administration and Public Grievance Department has brought a notification in this regard today.
As per the order, GA&PG Department is the Administrative Department in respect of IAS officers of the State and the Chief Secretary is the competent authority for sanction of all type of leave such as CL, EL, CCL, commuted leave, half pay leave, maternity leave, paternity leave as well as permission to leave headquarters.
“It has come to the notice that in some cases, the officers are availing leave / headquarters leaving permission without obtaining prior permission of the Chief Secretary,” it said.
Due to such absence, unavoidable official works have been hampered.
Therefore the department made it clear that prior permission of the Chief Secretary is mandatory for all IAS officers of the State while availing leaves as well as headquarter leaving permissions.
