CS Lauds NIC Role

Bhubaneswar: A three-day long e-Governance State Level Conference for District Information Science Officers and Assistant District Information Science Officers was inaugurated today at National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bhubaneswar .

Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena inaugurated the program and highlighted the important role of the District Information Science Officers in the successful implementation of e-Governance in the State .

In this context, the Chief Secretary said that NIC has achieved remarkable achievements in various works. The NIC has done a great job at the district level.

The District Information Science Officers have been at the forefront of executing many works being carried out at the district level under the supervision of the District Collectors.

He expressed the hope that the information science officials would do more and more good work in the coming days by analyzing this success base as well as the methods of work of the past and encouraged the informers.

He further said that informatics have expertise in the field of technical knowledge. He stressed on the need to bring innovation in the work at all times and complete the projects in the state in a time-bound manner.

Shri Jena spoke high of the officers who are contributing in the IT sector that there is a bright future in the field of Information and Technology. He said that it is the core of institutions with dedication, experience and expertise.

R Santhnagopalan, Secretary, Department of Labour and State Employees State Insurance highlighted the importance of new technology and artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual reality etc. in providing services to the citizens.

Ashok Kumar Hota, Deputy Director General and State Information Science Officer,NIC spoke at length about the role of NIC in the implementation of various schemes and projects being implemented in Odisha. He highlighted the commendable role of the District

Informatics Officers in the implementation of e-office in Jagatsinghpur district from district level to panchayat level, computer registration for havishyalis in Puri, awareness among the general public about various projects of the government in Baliyatra, Cuttack. He informed that in the next three days, there will be various discussions on the projects of various departments like agriculture, transport, revenue etc.

On this occasion, NIC annual calendar of major projects in Odisha was unveiled. This program was organized by Ramkrishna Das, Deputy Director General and Jayanta Kumar Mishra, Deputy Director General, NIC.
