CRUT Boosts Safety Training

Bhubaneswar: The Capital Region Urban Transport, commonly known as CRUT, has launched a comprehensive training initiative focused on safe driving habits and emergency response protocols for its frontline staff. This program aims to strengthen safety standards and guarantee more secure journeys for commuters across the Ama Bus network.

Under the direction of Managing Director Shri Sadique Alam, the organization is prioritizing specialized training for Captains and Guides. To facilitate this, CRUT has announced the establishment of multi-purpose training centers at every depot level within the Ama Bus system. These facilities will also include subsidized canteens to support the staff during their training periods. In a move to foster professional accountability, the recitation of a safety oath will be made mandatory for all personnel.

The training curriculum recently expanded beyond standard driving procedures to include legal and emergency awareness. A group of CRUT Guides and Captains participated in an educational visit to the Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition in Bhubaneswar. During the visit, staff members were briefed on the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) emergency response systems, modern policing techniques, and forensic investigation methods. They also gained insights into new criminal laws through an impactful awareness play designed to illustrate the practical application of these regulations.

In addition to classroom and exhibition-based learning, the Managing Director is taking a hands-on approach by holding individual meetings with operators and traveling on AMA Bus to identify field-level issues. This direct engagement has been noted by regular commuters, including a former Director General of Police, who observed that such field visits are essential for understanding and resolving the daily challenges faced by passengers.
