Crop Damage Report By 30 DEC

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today reviewed the damage caused to crops due to unseasonal rains in the state from 20-28 December and directed the concerned departmental officers to ensure that not a single affected farmer is deprived of assistance.

The Chief Minister also directed to identify the actual affected farmers along with an accurate assessment of crop damage by 30 December.

It was decided in the meeting that all the affected farmers who have been insured and have not been insured will be provided assistance through DBT at the earliest as per the rules of the State and Central Governments.

The Chief Minister also directed to conduct a comprehensive awareness programme so that all the farmer brothers and sisters who have insured inform the insurance companies about the damages within the stipulated time frame. It was informed in the meeting that so far 1 lakh 26 thousand farmers have been informed about the loss under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The Chief Minister appealed to all the insured farmers through the media to inform them about the damage to their crops by tomorrow (Sunday).

The Chief Minister also urged the registered farmer brothers and sisters of various districts to immediately inform them about the post-harvest losses due to unseasonal rains either through the “Krishi Rakshak” portal or by calling 14447.
