Bhubaneswar: The daily Covid-19 in Odisha dipped to a fresh low with reporting 3,031 cases on Monday. However, the fatalities continue to remain high at 43.
Out of the new cases, 1738 newly infected persons were detected from quarantine centres while 1293 were local contacts.
As many as 61,000 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Ratio (TPR) for the day stood at 4.97 per cent while it was 5.38 percent yesterday.
Khurda district reported the highest 381 fresh cases, followed by Cuttack (295), Balasore (290) and Jajpur (226). All other districts of the State have reported below 200 cases. With this, the Covid-19 cases in the State reached 8,80,533 with 36,633 active cases.
The State reported 43 deaths due to the contagious disease in the last 24 hours. With seven deaths, Khurdha accounted for the highest fatalities among all while Bargarh and Cuttack reported five fatalities each followed by four in Jharsuguda and Puri each. Koraput and Ganjam districts reported three deaths each
Similarly, two patients succumbed to the virus each in Bolangir, Boudh, Sambalpur & Sundergarh district while Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara and Rayagada registered one death each. Now, the Covid death toll mounted to 3633 in the State.
