Covid Comes Down In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases are coming down day by day in Odisha. The State reported 3405 new cases on Tuesday while 4339 cases had reported 14June.

Khurda district reported the highest 500 fresh infections, followed by Jajpur (391) and Balasore (296).

Lowest 9 cases reported in Jharsuguda, the home districts of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das.

Since the beginning of June month, the cases are going down in the State with slight fluctuation in between. On June 1, Odisha had reported 8735 cases which dipped to 6097 on June 10 and 3405 today (June 15).

A total of 56807 samples were tested in the State during the past 24 hours. The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) also went down to 5.99 per cent today from 6.33 per cent reported yesterday.

The total Covid cases in the State reached 8,59,526 so far. The Covid-19 active case tally now stands at 51,104 active cases in the State. So far, 8,04,981 patients have recovered in the State.

However, the fatalities remained a concern as the toll remained 40 or above during the past 11 days. Today 42 Covid-19 deaths were reported. The total death cases in the State stands at 3388.

Moreover, 643 persons have died from the virus in the first 15 days of June while 711 have died in the entire month of May and 118 in April.
