Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik today called upon party workers to aggressively counter false narratives against the BJD, especially on social media.
Shri Patnaik was addressing party leaders and workers here at Sankha Bhawan after he was re-elected as BJD president for the ninth consecutive term unopposed.
“Let me be honest in saying that we need to significantly improve our social media presence. Technology should be used to present facts, and without it, we cannot effectively reach the people,” Shri Patnaik told party leaders and workers.
Shri Patnaik said, “We narrowly lost the last election even though the BJD received more popular votes. This happened because we could not effectively counter the false narrative.”
The BJD Supremo thanked party workers for allowing him to serve once again as the President of the party.
He also welcomed attendees to the State Council Meeting and congratulated the elected District Presidents, State Executive Members, and other elected representatives.
“I have always kept your love in my heart,” he said, expressing deep respect for the beloved leader Biju Patnaik, and adding, “Biju Babu’s ideals have always guided us.”
In a veiled attack on the ruling BJP, the BJD chief said, “No one should underestimate the organisational strength of our party. The spirit of BJD workers remains very high. They are our real assets.”
“I have full faith in BJD workers, brothers and sisters. They are the ones who will give a befitting reply to the propaganda. They will spread the message of our service to every village and city of Odisha,” the BJD Chief said.
Shri Patnaik stated that with the blessings of the people of Odisha, the Biju Janata Dal had the opportunity to serve the state from 2000 to 2024, terming the period as a golden era of Odisha’s development.
He further said that Odisha became a model for other States due to its pioneering role in various fields.
“No one should underestimate the organizational strength of the Biju Janata Dal,” Patnaik said, while praising the high spirit and dedication of the hardworking men and women in the party.
“They are the real asset of our party. Our policies and ideals are our strength. Whether in government or not, the BJD has always served the people of Odisha and will continue to do so,” he remarked.
Claiming that the welfare of the people of Odisha is the BJD’s focus, Patnaik said empowerment of women, farmers, youth, workers, tribals and regional development is his party’s priority.
“The BJD has been working for the pride of Odisha and the state’s interests. Our fight for the rights of the Odisha people will continue. Odisha’s pride and the interests of the people are paramount to us,” he added.
