Bhubaneswar: A day after clash between BJP and Congress workers before Congress Bhawan here, the Congress party has given 72 hour ultimatum to police to arrest the persons involved in the alleged attack on Congress Bhawan.
Speaking to media persons, senior Congress Lawmaker Taraprasad Bahinipati today said the police should arrest the persons involved in the attack on the Congress Bhawan within 3 days. Otherwise, 20,000 youths will forcefully enter the State BJP office and the police will be responsible for it, he warned.
The State BJP had decided to create violence in the Congress Bhawan yesterday in the name of a protest. Under the instruction of the State BJP chief, the youths pelted stones at Congress headquarters and several Congress workers and media persons were injured in the attack, he alleged.
After coming to power, the BJP Government has murdered the democracy as like the BJD, Bahinipati said.
If the concerned persons will not be arrested in 72 hours, strong protests will be organized in all SP offices across the State, the Congress leader warned.
He appealed to the BJP not to touch the Congress otherwise, they will face the music, he said.
The supporters of the BJP and Congress clashed on Tuesday evening during a protest over remarks made by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. The incident happened outside the state Congress headquarters where the BJP was holding a demonstration over Gandhi’s remarks.
A complaint has been lodged at the Capital police station against the Congress workers for the violence, a BJP leader said.
Besides stones, the two sides also threw cow dung at each other. Cow dung was also thrown at a hoarding of Gandhi, which was later washed by Congress workers with milk. Police had a tough time bringing the situation under control.
