Collector Secures Tribal Water

Rayagada: District Collector Shri Ashutosh Kulkarni has prioritized the security of drinking water resources by conducting personal inspections in the district’s most remote tribal pockets.

Following a district-level public grievance hearing at Gudari Block, the Collector transitioned immediately to field oversight, focusing his attention on ensuring that water scarcity does not affect vulnerable communities during the rising temperatures.

Accompanied by the Sub-Collector of Gunupur and a team of senior officials, Shri Kulkarni reached the remote hilltop villages of Karlagudi, Rengapadar, and Kepiti under Madhuban Gram Panchayat.

This direct administrative intervention is specifically aimed at verifying the functionality of tube wells, solar-based pipe water systems, and traditional water sources in geographically challenging terrains.

By trekking to these high-altitude habitations, the Collector is ensuring that the state’s heat wave preparedness plan is being executed effectively where it is needed most.

The pro-people approach adopted by Team Rayagada emphasizes the human right to clean water, especially for those living in isolated zones.

This initiative involves not only checking existing infrastructure but also engaging with villagers to identify potential water stress points before the peak of summer.

The administration’s focus remains on providing a continuous and reliable water supply to every household, reflecting a commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of the tribal population against the harsh climatic conditions.
