COAS Reviews Security Situation

New Delhi: In the wake of reported ceasefire and airspace violations occurring during the night of May 10-11, 2025, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), has conducted a thorough review of the security situation with Army Commanders stationed along the Western Borders.

The review comes after reports of breaches to agreements made during the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) talks held on May 10, 2025. In response to these violations, General Dwivedi has granted full authority to the Army Commanders to undertake counteraction within the kinetic domain.

This authorization empowers the Army Commanders to respond decisively to any further violations of the understandings reached during the DGMO talks. The COAS’s decision underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the agreed-upon ceasefire and airspace protocols.
