CM Tackles Grievances Head-On

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today underscored his administration’s unwavering commitment to being a “government of the people” and ensuring that no citizen is deprived of justice. Shri Majhi held the 13th public grievance redressal program at the dedicated grievance redressal centre in Unit-2, Bhubaneswar, CM Shri Majhi emphasized the government’s proactive approach to addressing common man’s issues.

“Our government considers the problems of the common man with great importance and is always ready to solve them,” CM Shri Majhi stated, highlighting his administration’s efforts to bridge the gap between governance and citizens. He elaborated on the strategy of “breaking the artificial barrier” through public hearings, which effectively “bring the system to you.” The Chief Minister affirmed, “This government is with you, your trust gives us the strength to work.”

The grievance redressal program, a cornerstone of CM Shri Majhi’s governance philosophy, has been consistently held, with today marking its 13th session. The initiative, managed by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, allows citizens to register their complaints online via the Janasunani portal or its mobile application, ensuring a streamlined process. For today’s session, online registration opened on July 25th, allowing up to 1,000 participants to pre-register. Attendees were required to bring their acknowledgment receipt, a valid ID, and detailed grievance documents.

During the session, Chief Minister Shri Majhi personally engaged with individuals from various parts of the state, attentively listening to their concerns. He issued immediate directives for the speedy resolution of the grievances presented. Assisting the Chief Minister throughout the session was Manoj Kuma Sahoo, PS to CM, a 2006-batch IAS officer known for his efficiency and proactive approach. Shri Sahoo’s role has been pivotal in streamlining operations within the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and ensuring effective follow-up on directives. His presence alongside the Chief Minister during these public hearings is a testament to the integrated approach of the administration in addressing public concerns.

The government’s emphasis on accessibility extends beyond Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Shri Majhi has previously announced plans to expand the grievance redressal program to all parts of the state, ensuring that citizens in remote areas also have direct access to address their problems. This decentralized approach, coupled with the digital platform, aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in resolving public grievances, building further trust in the government’s commitment to its people.
