New Delhi: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today sought the cooperation of senior officers working under various ministries of the Central Government in New Delhi.
After attending the NITI Aayog Chief Minister Shri Majhi attended the meeting of Odisha Cadre All India Service (AIS) officers, which was organized on 28 July at Odisha Bhawan.
Two Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and Pravati Parida also attended it.
He sought the cooperation of these officers for the speedy implementation of all the proposals that the Chief Minister had put to the Central Government in the meeting of the NITI Aayog.
The Chief Minister said that there is a need for cooperation and coordination between the Center and the state in all these areas to achieve the goal of a developed Odisha.
The Chief Minister said that special importance has been given to Odisha in the Eastern Development Plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This special focus of the Prime Minister towards Odisha has created vast opportunities for Odisha. The Chief Minister said that Odisha must be able to achieve its ambitious goals with the cooperation of all.
The Chief Minister said that in the meeting of the Governing Council of the Niti Aayog, I have sought the full cooperation of the Government of India to build a developed Odisha.
Areas for which we need the help of the central government are port-based development, setting up of industrial corridors and industrial parks, provision of more funds and necessary approvals for setting up railway and airport infrastructure, support for development of natural disaster resilient infrastructure, Hydro Storage Plant for development of green economy.
And support for solar projects, establishment of bank branches and ATMs in unbanked areas for financial inclusion, cooperation for development of mining industry, development of railway network, foreign capital and cooperation for development of modern industries like semi-conductor, protection of forest resources More incentives and many more proposals to states like Odisha in the field.
Expressing the fact that he expects positive contribution of the central government in the field, he said that only government efforts are not enough for this. This also requires cooperation at all levels of society.
He said that the newly formed Odisha Government presented the first budget on July 25. He presented this budget as the Finance Minister.
In this budget preparation process, various sections of the society like economists, intellectuals, representatives of various sections were involved and gave their valuable opinions. In addition, more than 12,000 opnions were received online. This is 6 times more than the previous year.
So our budget reflects the opinion of the people. Our budget is truly a people’s budget and has been recognized by the masses. It is a people oriented budget presentation. It has been embraced by people from all walks of life, the Chief Minister said.
Declaring that our government is a ‘people’s government’, he said that informed opinions from all sections of the society are always welcome to design and shape a developed Odisha.
He said that he has great hope and confidence that the cooperation of Odisha officials in important positions of the central government will help in making our efforts a reality.
He said that the role of various ministries of the central government, especially those that approve various projects such as Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Industry, Railways, Civil Aviation and any ministry where there are Odisha cadre officers, is very important.
The chief minister said that the door of our government is always open for your (Odisha cadre officers working under the central government) constructive feedback and full cooperation.
He said that we will discuss many more times in the coming days and together we will make the vision of a developed Odisha a reality.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Odisha cadre officers working in various ministries and departments of the Central Government and Odisha officers attended the meeting and gave their well thought out views for the development of Odisha.
