Bhubaneswar: For the first time after completion of Padampur by-poll, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit the Assembly segment tomorrow. All eyes are on his visit, as there is a buzz in the political circle that CM may declare Padampur as a district.
The Chief Minister would attend three public meetings at Padampur, Paikamal and Jharbandh tomorrow.
Shri Patnaik will first visit Jharbandh block, then Paikamal and later in the afternoon to Padampur. In the afternoon, before leaving for Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister may make some announcement in Padampur, sources said.
In all three public meetings, the CM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of some developmental projects. Senior Ministers, MLAs and BJD leaders from Western Odisha have been camping in the three blocks for making the public meetings successful.
According to reports, Paikamal Primary Health Center (PHC) will be upgraded to Community Health Center (CHC). The big news on District status for Padampur may come tomorrow.
It is worth mentioning that, BJD won the Padampur bye-election by a margin of more than 42,000 votes in December. The CM had gone personally to campaign in Padampur.
From the current trends it can be seen that BJD has big plans for Western Odisha in the coming months. The CM’s visit to Padampur seems to be one of the first in a series of visits to focus on Western Odisha.
