CM Oversees Chariot Work, Offers Prayers

Puri: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today undertook a significant visit to the Holy City of Puri, combining spiritual observance with crucial administrative oversight ahead of the eagerly anticipated Rath Jatra.

His visit underscored the state government’s deep reverence for Lord Jagannath and its commitment to ensuring the smooth conduct of the annual Rath Jatra festival, said Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee.

Upon his arrival, Chief Minister Shri Majhi, an ardent devotee himself, witnessed the sacred ‘Pahandi’ ritual, the ceremonial procession of the Trinity (Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra) from the sanctum sanctorum to the Snana Bedi (bathing altar). He also partook in the auspicious ‘Mangala Alati’, offering prayers for the well-being of the state and its people.

Beyond his spiritual observations, the Chief Minister Shri Majhi dedicated considerable time to supervising the ongoing chariot construction works.

With the Rath Jatra just weeks away, this administrative review is vital to ensure that the colossal chariots are being built meticulously and on schedule, adhering to age-old traditions and engineering specifications. His presence at the construction site highlighted the government’s direct involvement in the intricate preparations for the grand festival.

Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), a devout follower of Lord Jagannath himself, facilitated a seamless darshan experience for the Chief Minister and other devotees present.

Dr. Padhee briefed CM Shri Majhi on various aspects of temple management and Rath Jatra preparations, including crowd control, security arrangements, and devotee facilities.
