Bhubaneswar: To evaluate the ground reality and gauge the damage caused by overflowing rivers, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi conducted an aerial survey of the heavily impacted districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Keonjhar.
Accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari, Higher Education Minister Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, and Special Relief Commissioner Shri Rajesh Pravakar Patil, the Chief Minister inspected submerged agricultural fields, isolated villages, and breached infrastructure.
Following the aerial inspection, Chief Minister Shri Majhi presided over high-level strategic review meetings with district collectors, block-level officials, and departmental heads. During these meetings, he directed the district authorities to ensure seamless administration and uninterrupted delivery of aid, reiterating the state government’s zero-casualty principle.

For instance, an ODRAF unit mobilized from Jagatsinghpur carried out intensive rescue operations at Falapur village under the Bhatasahi Gram Panchayat in Dhamnagar Block of Bhadrak district, utilizing power boats and specialized water-rescue gear to reach trapped villagers.
Recognizing that post-flood scenarios pose grave threats regarding waterborne epidemics and vector-borne infections, the health and safety of every individual in the affected zones was accorded the highest priority.
The Health and Family Welfare Department launched continuous mobile medical services and door-to-door healthcare visits.
