CM Launches Ekta Padyatra

Nilgiri (Balasore): Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated the ‘Ekta Padyatra’ (Unity March) at Nilgiri in Balasore district, an event marking the nationwide observation of Unity Year on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

The Chief Minister flagged off the march, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of students, youth, and citizens. The padyatra is part of a series of events across the country commemorating the monumental contributions of Sardar Patel to national integration.

Addressing the gathering before the march, Shri Majhi emphasized the profound significance of the event. He stated that the Ekta Padyatra is “not just an ordinary march; it is a symbol of Indianness, a symbol of the duty of common citizens to keep the country united.”

The Chief Minister highlighted that the spirit of unity embodied in the march reflects the national commitment to Sardar Patel’s legacy. Patel’s unwavering resolve was instrumental in integrating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union after independence, laying the foundation for a unified and strong India.
