CM Laid Foundation For SUM Lifesciences

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, on Monday laid the foundation for 27 industrial projects, including the Rs. 200 crore SUM Lifesciences pharma manufacturing and research unit. The projects, valued at ₹25,380 crore, are set to be established across 12 districts and are projected to create over 52,000 jobs.

The foundation-laying ceremony was held remotely from the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus. SUM Lifesciences, a subsidiary of Summa Real Media Private Ltd, will be located at the Gothapatna Industrial Estate on the outskirts of the city and is expected to generate direct employment for 1,280 people.

The event was attended by prominent state officials, including Industries Minister Sampad Charan Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, and ACS Industries, Hemant Sharma. The officials highlighted that these ventures are a significant step toward diversifying the state’s growth and promoting balanced regional development.
