Cuttack: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi graced the district-level 77th Republic Day celebrations at the historic Barabati Stadium on Monday. The Chief Minister unfurled the National Flag and received the ceremonial salute from a parade comprising 47 contingents and nine government tableaux showcasing the state’s developmental achievements.

During his address to the gathering, the Chief Minister paid profound tributes to the immortal martyrs and the millions of freedom fighters who struggled to secure India’s liberation. He emphasized that the year 2026 brings new dreams and opportunities for the state, calling on citizens to strengthen the ideals of democracy through a resolve in pure conscience.

Outlining a roadmap for a prosperous and developed Odisha, the Chief Minister urged the people to unite in the mission to position Odisha among the top five states in India by 2036. He highlighted the government’s focus on technology and the welfare of farmers, youth, women, and the poor as the pillars of this transformation.

The event concluded with the felicitation of distinguished individuals and winners of various Republic Day competitions. Following the ceremony at Barabati Stadium, the Chief Minister’s itinerary included visits to a blood donation camp and an exhibition hosted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.
